Support
Email [email protected]. That is all of our support: one address, read by a person. There is no phone line, no live chat and no ticket number to quote. Most messages get an answer the same day — give us two business days before you worry. If your appointment is in the next few hours, your provider will be quicker than we can be, so start with them.
Aster is booking and payment software for independent beauty and wellness professionals — a calendar, a client list, a public booking page and card payments, run from the practitioner’s own phone. It is operated by Innovative Studios LLC and offered in the United States only.
Changing or cancelling an appointment
If you booked with a practitioner and need to move or cancel, you can almost certainly do it yourself. Every confirmation and reminder we send carries a link to your own appointment — Manage: followed by a web address in a text message, or Manage your appointment at the bottom of an email. Open it and you can see what’s booked, move it to another time, or cancel it. It is easy to miss, so scroll back to that message before anything else.
- The link belongs to that one appointment and needs no password or account. It keeps working until about a month afterwards, then stops.
- Moving keeps the same appointment. Pick a new time on that page and the booking moves — you never hold two, your link goes on working, and any deposit you have already paid stays on it: nothing is charged again and nothing is refunded. What it can’t change is the service or the practitioner; for either of those, cancel and book afresh.
- Close to the time, changing it online switches off — moving and cancelling alike. Each provider sets their own cancellation window; inside it, the page asks you to contact the studio directly. They may well still be able to help — we can’t do it on their behalf.
- If you paid a deposit and cancel online, the deposit is refunded automatically. Any other charge is your provider’s to refund.
- Your provider holds your record, sets the price and gives the treatment. Aster is the software they use to run their book. Anything about the visit itself is a question for them.
- Starting a fresh booking on the practitioner’s page does not cancel an existing one — that is what the move control on your appointment page is for. Book afresh and you will be holding two.
- If their page says they aren’t taking new appointments, your appointment is still fine. That is the practitioner pausing new bookings — they may be full, away, or still setting up — and it changes nothing about a booking you already hold: it stands, and your link still moves or cancels it. To be seen, contact the studio directly, and look at the page again another day.
- Replying to a text doesn’t reach anyone: that number isn’t read, though replying STOP does stop the texts. Replying to an email does reach someone — it goes to your provider, not to us. For anything we need to look at, email us.
Lost the message, or the link says the appointment can’t be found? Email us with your provider’s name and roughly when the appointment is, and we’ll point you to the right place.
Running your business on Aster
- Your account and booking page. You sign up in the Aster app on your iPhone. Your booking page is asterbooking.com/book/ followed by the handle you choose, and it’s yours to share anywhere. Services, prices, hours, deposits, your cancellation window and your no-show fee are all yours to set — clients see exactly what you set.
- Pausing new bookings. Accepting new appointments in Settings closes your book when you’re full, away, or not ready. Your page stays up with your services and prices on it — clients just can’t book a new time. Appointments you already have are untouched, and your clients can still move or cancel theirs from their own links. Until you have at least one service and some working hours the switch isn’t available, because there would be nothing to book either way.
- Your clients. The client list is yours. Add clients by hand or import a list you already keep, and if a client asks, you can edit or clear their details yourself. What Aster holds, and how to have it removed, is in the Privacy Policy.
- Payments. Money runs through Stripe on the Stripe account you connect: charges are made there and paid out to you, and Aster never holds your funds. Stripe asks for your identity and bank details during its own onboarding — those go to Stripe directly, not through us — and you need to finish that before you can be paid.
- Tap to Pay on iPhone. Taking contactless cards on the phone itself needs a supported iPhone — iPhone XS or later, on a current iOS — and a connected Stripe account with card payments active. You set it up in Settings › Payments, and the first time, Apple asks you to accept its terms on the device. If the button doesn’t seem to do anything, it is almost always one of those two things. Write to us if you’re stuck.
- Something looks wrong. A booking that didn’t arrive, a message that didn’t send, a payment you can’t place — email us with the client’s first name and the day it happened, and we can usually see what became of it.
